The Major (Motoko Kusanagi)

is such an amazing character. She's a hacker specialist who understands overspecialization is death. She leads a team of cyborgs that later is lead by a non cyborg. And she is maybe the most important visual character in the cyberpunk movement. William Gibson wrote Neuromancer, Harrison Ford Starred in Blade Runner, but without The Major in Ghost in the Shell I don't think we'd have a strong cohesive aesthetic to cyberpunk. Someone attractive, tough, attractive, and cool to a deadly point. It's so cool to see a movement that feels so scared of Japan, and their technology, adopted into a show asking what the boundaries of technology can be
